Eleuthera All That Jazz

An anual jazz festival in the Bahamas

I was introduced to The Bahamas in March of 2009 through a musician friend.  That trip was to change my musical life forever.

What was life-altering was my introduction to the country’s music and musicians. These fine musicians introduced me to Soca, Dancehall and Reggae to name a few.

Bob Marley’s music had such an impact that I came back to Winnipeg and started my own Reggae group, The Buffalo Soul Jahs.

The Island of Eleuthera, one of the many Family Islands of The Bahamas, has held the Eleuthera All That Jazz Festival every March since 2011.  Its main objective is to raise funds for the local library in the capital city, Governor’s Harbour.

The festival invites jazz musicians from all over the world to perform for the local people, exposing them to this music and its artists.

I have volunteered for the festival since 2015 and am now a committee member.
